This message may indicate an EFS filesystem has become corrupt. This error may be caused by one of several possible problems:
The filesystem meta-data is corrupt.
The disk has media errors.
The system went down improperly.
Correct this problem by:
Unmount the file system by using the “File System Manager” available from the “System” menu of the Toolchest.
Running fsck to ensure that any file system damage is corrected, for example:
fsck /dev/rdsk/dks0d2s7 |
![]() | Note: if the problem occurs on the root partition, the system will run fsck on that partition only when the system is rebooted. |
Refer to man fsck for more information on fsck. For more information on disks and file systems, refer to the book Irix Admin: Disks and Filesystems.
If the problem persists or you need more assistance, contact your System Administrator or your service provider.
